Concert at The Factory at Franklin to Benefit O’More College of Design
David Crowder and friends will be performing a benefit concert Friday in Liberty Hall at The Factory at Franklin at 7:30 p.m., as part of a fundraiser for O’More College of Design. Tickets are $20, and all proceeds will go towards the school’s interior design department and accompanying programs.
The O’More American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and International Interior Design Association (IIDA) student chapters have orchestrated the event to buy new equipment for the department’s studio space in the Factory.
Crowder’s wife, Toni, is a current O’More student and treasurer of the ASID chapter. She said that 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the institution, and that the concert is just one way that both she and her husband can show their love for the College.
“We are both very supportive of O’More and look for opportunities to help where we can,” she said. “It’s a valuable asset in downtown Franklin, and this is something we could do to support the College and its interior design program.”
David Crowder was the former front man for David Crowder Band, a Grammy-nominated Christian modern worship band that won seven Dove Awards and saw hits on the Billboard charts. He recently launched a solo career, with a focus on bluegrass roots.
Crowder and friends will be preforming some of the David Crowder Band’s classics at Friday’s concert, along with old gospel favorites.
The ASID and IIDA chapters have sold more than two-thirds of the seats to Friday’s concert. To purchase remaining tickets to the student-led initiative, go to www.crowdermusic.com. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
