The Untouchables Society Membership and the President's Top-4 O'More 2011 Men's Event
The Untouchables Society is O'More's premier men's design organization and the President's Top-4 O'More Men's Event is our ultimate men's design event held each March. This year's Top-4 Event, created, researched and hosted by O'More President, Dr. Mark Hilliard, takes place on the O'More Campus on March 4, 2011 from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. The theme for the evening is pre-embargo, 1950s, Cuba.
The Process for Selecting the Top-4 Picks this Year:
O'More's president, along with an O'More team, spend two to three months at the end of each year researching potential Top-4 picks from a variety of men's high-design products. "I first examine creditable sources who have reviewed men's design products. This year's research includes: The European Cigar Journal, Cigar Aficionado Magazine, Golf Magazine, Robb Report, Golf.com, the San Francisco World Spirit Competition, RumXP International Tasting Competition, reviews by the Cadillac LaSalle Club, Worth & Worth, and AskMen.com" (Mark Hilliard). O'More team members then test high scoring items (typically the top 10 - 25 within various categories), and narrows the field to the Top-4. "I then bring these Top-4 items from each category to the March men's event where you, the attendees, review and test each item personally. As the evening ends attendees select the Best in Show for each category" (Mark Hilliard). This year's Top Picks are: Premium Cigars, Fine Rums, Classic 1950s Cars, High-End Golf Putters, Timeless Men's Dress Hats, and the Coolest Starter Motorcycles on the market.

Research format for each of the Top-4
Items this year.
Premium Cigars: The process for selecting this year's Top-4 cigars included a trip to the largest cigar conference in the United States - the Cigar Aficionado Big Smoke in Las Vega where I met approximately thirty of the luxury cigar company leaders in the world. This is not the Swisher Sweets and White Owls of your youth, but the highest quality premium cigars in the world. Back at home two of the world's best sources for bi-monthly cigar information were reviewed throughout the year - the Cigar Aficionado Magazine (CAM) and the bi-lingual European Cigar Journal (ECJ). All cigars scoring 93 points in 2010 (CAM) and those receiving perfect scores (ECJ) were re-tested by an O'More Cigar Tasting Team (excluding Cuban cigars which are not legal to purchase in the United States). All cigars that made it to the Top 25 Cigars of 2010 by CAM we also tested (excluding Cubans). From these cigars, we narrowed it down to those cigars that came from Cuban seed, and then selected the Best Cigar from each of the following countries: Dominican Republic, Honduras, Nicaragua, and a multi-country mix blend. Price points for these cigars range from $10.00 - $30.00. I will share these top four cigars in the world with all attendees at the March 4, 2011 President's Top-4 O'More Men's Event, where you will help me determine the Best Premium Cigar in Show (Dr. K. Mark Hilliard, President).
Fine Rums: The Top-4 Rums were selected from two prestigious annual research competitions: the 2010 San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) and the 2010 RumXP International Tasting Competition (RXP) - Florida. These competitions conduct blind taste tests of over 870 spirits from over 63 countries and every continent except Antarctica. Bronze, Silver, and Gold awards are presented and at the SFWSC, when a spirit receives a gold award from the majority of judges, it receives a Double Gold Award. O'More taste testers only tested those rums receiving Double Gold by the SFWSC and gold by the RXP. From this in-house tasting, the Top-4 rums for this 2011 O'More event were selected. I will share these four rums with all attendees at the March 4, 2011 President's Top-4 O'More Men's Event. Attendees will help me determine the Best Rum in Show (Dr. K. Mark Hilliard).
Classic 1950s Cars: The category of Classic Cars from the 1950s was selected because these cars are still very popular in Cuba (this year's event theme) - they are pre-embargo American Cars. In selecting the Top-4 Classic 1950s Cars I began by viewing photographs of over 40 cars from this decade - all cars from my childhood. I then enlisted the assistance of two members of the Cadillac LeSalle Club, Travis Bossier and George Ross of Ross' Restorations, Inc., whose expertise helped me narrow the list down to six cars. From this list of six, I have chosen the Top-4 Classis 1950s cars and with the assistance of Mr. Bossier and Mr. Ross will have these cars at the March 4, 2011 President's Top-4 O'More Men's Event. Attendees will help me determine the Best Classic Car in Show (Dr. K. Mark Hilliard).
High-End Gold Putters: I am not a golfer, so I relied heavily on research data and a golfing friend who lives much of his life on the golf course, Nick Shelton. Research in print came from reviews in Golf Magazine and Golf.com. Calls were then made to the top makers of high-end golf putters, asking these companies to represent their best clubs at this event. From this list of top golf companies, I have selected my putters for this year's President's Top-4 O'More Men's Event. Attendees will help me determine the Best Golf Putter in Show (Dr. K. Mark Hilliard).
Timeless Men's Dress Hats: I have often wondered why men's ties have remained a popular fashion statement over the years (which serve little purpose other than décor) and why men's dress hats have slipped gently away from the fashion scene with a small re-emergence in the last decade. In selecting the Top-4 Men's Dress Hats I first selected who I believe to be the best Men's Dress Hat maker in the world - Worth and Worth of NY, whose hats are all handcrafted in Italy. With the help of Orlando Palacious, owner of Worth and Worth, I reviewed over 100 hats, narrowing the field down to four major styles and then my top picks within each style. These four major styles for Timeless Men's Dress Hats, and a variety of hats within each style, will be at the March 4, 2011 President's Top-4 O'More Men's Event. Attendees will help me select the Best Men's Dress Hat in Show (Dr. K. Mark Hilliard).
Coolest Starter Motorcycles: We all want to own and ride a cool motorcycle, but few of us do. For this category, I wanted to help with this dream by examining the coolest, yet beginner or starter, motorcycles for men. AskMen.com recently offered their list of the 10 best started bikes, and from this list, I have selected my Top-4. I am currently contacting the four top companies and asking them to bring their best started bike to this event. Now don't be fooled by the word starter, as half of my choices are very powerful motorcycles, yet within their company, they would be the bike to consider starting with. Each of these motorcycles will be at the March 4, 2011 President's Top-4 O'More Men's Event. Attendees will help me select the Best Motorcycle in Show (Dr. K. Mark Hilliard).
