
Rebecca Davis
Rebecca Davis has created jewelry since she was a teen, reinventing her grandmother’s jewelry into items that she wore and shared with friends. Her creative drive earned her a BFA from Auburn University and a career as a graphic designer, but she never lost her love for jewelry making. Rebecca is the owner/designer of her Mimi and Dottie Jewelry line and an award-winning freelance graphic design business. Rebecca utilizes her ever-growing collection of antique and vintage jewelry, coins and interesting curiosities to design unique one-of-a-kind jewelry. Rebecca teaches Fashion Jewelry Design and Recycled Jewelry Design for the Summer Studio.
Susan DeGarmo
Ms. DeGarmo has been a professional graphic designer for twenty-three years and has designed everything from license plates to CDs and illustrated greeting cards to books. Additionally, she served as a partner in a design firm, an art director for a children’s magazine, and on the Board of Governors for N.A.R.A.S. in Memphis. Ms. DeGarmo has won several awards for her three-dimensional illustrations. Susan earned her B.F.A. at Memphis College of Art and has served in varying instructional and leadership roles as the Assistant Professor of Visual Communications at Memphis College of Art, Department Chair of Graphic Design from 1995-1999 at O’More College of Design, Professor at O’More College of Design from 1995-1999 and 2005-2010, instructor for Saturday School at Memphis College of Art in 1985, and volunteer instructor for the P.A.A.W. After School Clubs Program at Winstead Elementary School in 2008. Susan DeGarmo instructs the Altered Books, Magic Books & Paper Toys, and Print Practically Anything! courses for the Summer Studio.
Sorrel Dugan
Sorrel is a former Franklin High School student, who earned her Art Education Degree from UT and MTSU. She has ten years of experience as a public education Art Teacher with varying age groups in elementary, middle, and high school levels. Sorrel's mixed media art won Judge's Pick at the First Baptist Arts Festival in Nashville. She is currently teaching at Winstead Elementary School, and also works as a designer with a local clothing company. Ms. Dugan's website and artwork can be viewed at sorreldugan.blogspot.com. Michael Johnson
Michael Johnson is a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN where he received his B.S. in Information Technology with a concentration in Graphic Design and Multimedia. He currently works for an international marketing services company designing and managing content for marketing campaigns. He also free lances as a web developer and graphic designer. Michael teaches Digital Design with Adobe Photoshop and Gaming Design & Development for the Summer Studio.
Joshua Lomelino
For the last 10 years Joshua has owned and operated Anomaly Studios, a design firm specializing in Graphic Design, Interactive Design, and Animation. His past projects include work in the areas of Interactive Design, Animated Films, 3-D product visualization, 3-D special effects, and Internet programming. Additionally, his experience includes serving as the Director of Interactive Media for O’More College of Design, as an animator for film and DVD productions, and as an Interactive Designer for FreeTV Network, creating their Internet streaming technologies. He is the co-author and animator of the children’s animated movie, “In the Beginning There Were Dinosaurs”, author of Animation School, and has designed and programmed several interactive learning platforms that are used internationally by colleges and universities. He earned his M.A. from The Savannah College of Art and Design in Interactive Design and Game Development, his B.S. from Illinois State University in Arts Technology, and an A.A. from Illinois Central College in Business and Programming. Joshua instructs the Digital Design with Adobe Photoshop and Gaming Design & Development courses for the Summer Studio.
Laura Saylor
Laura Saylor earned her B.F.A. in Art Education at Belmont University. She currently teaches Art I, III, IV, Studio Art AP, and Art History at Franklin High School. Laura instructs the Expressing Yourself (Literally!) Sculpture and Soda Can Art courses for the Summer Studio.
Anita White
Anita earned her double-major B.A. in Fashion Design and Fashion Merchandising from O'More College of Design and was awarded the Senior Achievement Award for her fashion show collection at the annual O'More Fashion Show. She currently teaches fashion courses for college students at O'More College of Design. In addition, Anita uses the Gerber Accumark system to construct patterns as the assistant patternmaker for The Bandhall. They specialize in designing band uniforms and colorguard outfits. She instructs Basic Illustration for Fashion I and II, Fashion Trendsetting, and Storyboard Presentation for Fashion Design at the Summer Studio.
