Summer Studio at O’More students launch into art and design at a point of engagement beyond the average summer art program. The Summer Studio seeks to engage 7–12 grade students in digital media, design, and fine art, in order to introduce knowledge, expand their level of experience, and develop a heightened appreciation of these areas. Students learn from professionals in the art and digital media fields, as well as seasoned art educators and professors, in the real-world application of aesthetics, design, and creativity as it applies to future employment in varying professions.
A diverse course schedule ranging from intermediate drawing and painting to fashion design to digital self-portraits enables each student to craft a summer schedule tailored to their personal needs and interests. At the end of each session, students leave the Summer Studio with high quality art and design pieces worthy of a student portfolio. In addition, a culminating gallery event for the Summer Studio occurs where the students are able to experience the privilege of having their work shown to others. Judges select the best overall pieces for scholarships, financial awards, and other prizes.
