Safety and Hours O'More College of Design, though unique in its setting and as a functioning facility, nevertheless recognizes the security concerns that all schools must consider and address in the 21st century. The college wants to provide its students and guests the greatest possible degree of access to the buildings and grounds. With those challenges in mind, the school employs both full- and part-time security guards and retains a groundskeeper in residence. There is always someone "home" at O'More College of Design, and that will continue to be true as our student body grows.
All visitors to campus are asked to sign in upon arrival in the Abbey Leix Mansion, and all guests, students, faculty, and staff are required to cooperate fully with campus security officers while on the premises or attending school-sponsored events. Likewise, all students, employees, and guests are subject to all city, county, state, and national laws.

Severe Weather As anyone who calls the region "home" can attest, Middle Tennessee has it all, including just about every category of weather imaginable. In the event of extremely adverse weather conditions, O'More College of Design will be closed. Closings will also be announced on WKRN Channel 2, WSMV Channel 4, WTVF Channel 5, WZTV Channel 17, and the college's automated voice mail system at 615.794.4254, extension 250.
You may also sign up for text and/or email alerts through the websites of these individual stations, which will allow you to receive notification regarding your school when it has closed due to severe weather.
When the college is listed as opening late, this is based on our normal start time of 8 a.m. For example: If the college is opening 2 hours late, that means students and faculty should report to class at 10 a.m. If a class starts at 8:00 and goes until 10:20, you will only attend your 10:00 class for 20 minutes. (For 9:00 classes ending at 11:40, you would attend for 1 hour 40 minutes, and so on.) If you do not have a class that begins prior to 10 a.m., you should report to your next class at the regularly scheduled time.
All students, faculty, and staff are expected to exercise discretion regarding personal safety whether the college is open or closed. Classes missed due to bad weather will be made up later in the semester, at a date and time to be determined by the college.
Anyone on campus during a severe weather event should look to the Campus Security Department for information and a coordinated response. Specific areas on campus have been designated for shelter when weather conditions become dangerous.
