Janet Cruz is a successful working artist with several years of teaching experience. She was the 2005 recipient of the O’More College of Design Provost Award. She also serves on the art jury for the Firehall Gallery at City Hall in Franklin, TN. Her work has been exhibited in Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and New Mexico, and is part of several private collections.
Bruce Bezaire

Bruce Bezaire has extensive experience both as a teacher and working artist. He has taught at the University of Windsor, Bellhaven College (HEADWAE Award as outstanding faculty member 1997; Art Department Chair 1996-2002). Professor Bezaire received the O’More College of Design Master Teacher Award in 2007. He has been a self employed painter and illustrator with several one-man exhibits in the United States and Canada. He has also participated in a three-man exhibit of Canadian painters in Seoul, South Korea.
Marleen DeWaele-DeBock

Marleen DeWaele-DeBock completed her studies at the St Lucas Institute, one of the best Fine Art Schools in Belgium, with a specialization in printmaking. Her work has been exhibited internationally. She spent more than a decade in Mozambique and South Africa where the African culture had a profound influence on her art. She is the creator of Enfants d’ Ete children’s wear line. Since moving to Nashville in 2001 her work has been exhibited at the Parthenon, Dangenart Gallery and LeQuire Gallery.
Ashleigh Robertson

Ashleigh Robertson completed her MFA with a specialization in the area of fiber art including felting, fabric dying and printing, and weaving. Her work which includes several hand felted wool pieces has been exhibited in Tennessee.

Lisa has several years of teaching experience and is now the School & Outreach Programs Coordinator at Cheekwood in addition to teaching Art History at O’More. She taught Art Appreciation and Art History at Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas and was the Pre K – 3rd Grade Art Teacher at Prestonwood Christian Academy in Plano, Texas before moving back home to Tennessee.
John Watts

John Watts received his MFA with a specialization in sculpture. He has extensive knowledge of sculpture history, technique and installation. His work has been commissioned for several exhibitions including installations by landscape sculptor Mel Chin in Corpus Christi,TX.

Dr. K. Mark Hilliard, President and CEO of O’More College of Design, also serves as a Professor of Educational Wellness, Holistic Wellness, Exploring Spirituality, and Marriage & Family. He is the Director of the Hilliard Institute for Educational Wellness—A Sensory Teaching and Learning Center at O’More; Head of the Council for Institutional Research & Advancement (CIRA); and Director of O’More Publishing—the college press. His recent research activities include induction as a Oxford University Summer Research Institute Scholar & Fellow—Harris Manchester College, Oxford University, England; a member of the Oxford Research Institute; and a former member of The Oxford Roundtable. Professor Hilliard is a published author of two books and is working on his third which he will co-author with his daughter. The book concerns the art and science, or the design, of teaching and learning. Dr. Hilliard received his Doctor of Arts Degree from MTSU in Higher Education and in Wellness. He completed his dissertation and has conducted extensive research into unique learning styles of Native Americans—specifically the Eastern Band of the Cherokee.

Dr. Brewer served 21 years in the U.S. Army, commanding 5 companies (100 – 350 personnel), utilizing mathematical skills in planning operations and sustaining troops. After serving in the military, Dr. Brewer spent 14 years in industry, analyzed battlefield payoff of engineering design trades in operability, lethality, mobility and survivability for 10 – 30 ton combat vehicles.

Chris Lee

Chris Lee has worked in the securities industry, where he held Series Six and 63 licenses. He has also published a book, “The Winner’s Guide to Fantasy Baseball,” which examines the underlying economic issues associated with Rotisserie and fantasy baseball. He has worked in college admissions for 13 years and is the college’s Dean of Enrollment.

At Harding University, Jessa Sexton received a bachelor of arts in English with teacher licensure and a Masters of Education with an English emphasis. She taught 7th and 9th grade English before coming to O'More where she teaches writing, literature, speech, research, and educational classes. During the summer of 2007, she served as a research assistant at the Harris Manchester College of Oxford University's Summer Research Institute. She has published a children's book and is co-writing a book on education that will be released in the winter of 2007.
